Dear Friend,

Abby ShieldsAuthor Ann Voskamp once said, “You’ve got to use the life you’ve been given to give others life. If your life isn’t about giving relief-you don’t get real life.” Over the past ten years of ministry, the heart of NHLB has been to bring relief to the suffering and point people to life, to the gospel of Jesus Christ. In just the past two years, NHLB has counseled over 150 people, assisted approximately 500 people through our care ministry, and spoken to countless numbers in audiences across the region. To quantify the number of lives impacted by the gospel of Jesus through NHLB over 10 years of ministry is impossible.

I am so thankful for all of the opportunities God has given us to participate in bringing relief to his children through our counseling, care ministry, and even our speaking opportunities, because those needing relief are not just those with physical and economic challenges but also those who have so much financially but are desperate for relief because they have no faith and have lost all hope. I am so thankful for people like you who have caught our vision to bring hope and healing to these individuals and have played a part in making all of these opportunities possible.

As we have been faithful with little, God has continued to bring more opportunities to share His gospel with the hurting. With a full counseling schedule, growth in our Care Ministry, and a higher demand for our family focused classes, we began to pray about a big step for the ministry that has been a part of our vision from the very beginning. As we move into 2017, we believe it is time to step out of our comfort zones and in faith begin the process to find a building for NHLB that would bring all of the facets of ministry under one roof.  This building would serve as a face to the community for NHLB, allow for greater volunteer involvement, and expand our reach and service to the community.

At our Chance for Romance Fundraiser on February 4th, we launched our capital campaign to have a building for No Heart Left Behind. In order to achieve this dream, we need to raise $500,000. For a ministry of our size it is a lofty goal, almost uncomfortable to even say. But I stand before you tonight asking you to stand with me and live the dream of uncomfortable. We are asking you to prayerfully consider the following:

  • A FINANCIAL GIFT: A gift of any size that will be designated to our capital fund to purchase a building for No Heart Left Behind. We would be happy to meet with you to discuss in greater detail our plans and vision for this building.
  • 50 FOR 25 PLEDGE: We are looking for 50 people to commit to giving $25 a month that would grow our supporter base and help provide for the operational costs and ministry that would take place in the building.

Someone once said, “We’re hungry for uncomfortable because we are hungry for God. For He is outside of our comfort zones.” We are excited about where we believe God is leading No Heart Left Behind and ask you to prayerfully consider a financial gift that would help us launch our building campaign and put us one step closer to achieving our dream. Thank you so much for your support and God Bless!

In His Grip,
Abby Shields
